"Where's Fran?" is the sixteenth episode in the third season of the CBS television series The Nanny, which was aired on January 15, 1996.
Synopsis[]
Most of this episode doesn't have a plot and is just clips from past episodes that highlight the essence of the characters' relationships.
Plot[]
Fran Fine had seen Maggie Sheffield and her new boyfriend, smoking, and tells it to Valerie Toriello before she plots to have Maxwell Sheffield catch her smoking in front of Maggie to frighten her into stopping. Fran soon lit a cigarette just as Maxwell and Maggie show up, and Maxwell reprimands her for it, even as going far as insulting her and refuses to apologize, resulting in Fran quitting. Brighton Sheffield thinks his father called her a 'moron', as told by Niles, before he tells him about times that would make her qualify as a 'fourth Stooge', such as when he was having his appendix removed and Fran, while disguised as a nurse, had sprayed shaving cream about. Niles then believes she acts the way he does is because Maxwell always yells at her, which he tries to deny.
In his office, Maxwell remembers the times Fran would barge in, and Niles believes he misses her and tells him to call her mother, Sylvia Fine, believing she might be with her, which he tries not to, but does so in the end.
