"A Pup in Paris" is the twenty-seventh episode in the third season, and is the third season finale of the CBS television series The Nanny, which was aired on May 20, 1996.
Synopsis[]
Fran and C.C.'s dog accompany Maxwell on a trip to Paris when they fail to leave the plane before takeoff.
Plot[]
Mr. Sheffield is off to Paris. His mother wants him to talk to Nigel, his brother, who's spending his trust fund on a nightclub. He mistakenly takes the pet carrier holding Chester instead of his own luggage when he leaves for Paris, and Fran follows him onto the plane to trade bags. She becomes trapped in a storage area on the plane and emerges to spend the trip with Maxwell in Paris. They shop and tour around the city, after Maxwell has a horrible quarrel with Nigel. Eventually, he realizes all he wants is to be like Nigel and quickly returns to New York. The plane experiences heavy turbulence, and fearing disaster Maxwell opens his heart and tells Fran he loves her.
Eventually, they reach Paris, but have to share a hotel room together. Fran has the bellboy take Chester out, and she and Maxwell end up lying on the bed together. As Maxwell prepares to have a bath, Fran answers the door to a young man, whom Maxwell confirms is his brother, Nigel. Upon learning his brother was only in Paris to try to talk him out of owning a nightclub, this leads to an argument and a fight, which Fran manages to thwart. Nigel soon leaves, forbidding Maxwell from his nightclub as a result. Having wasted the trip, Maxwell prepares to leave, but Fran convinces her to take her shopping, and, along with Chester, explore Paris, ending up at Nigel's nightclub in the end, where he introduces them to Eartha Kitt, whom had performed at his nightclub. In the end, Fran and Maxwell take the next flight back to New York, where they soon hit turbulence. And as they believe they're about to die, Maxwell tells Fran that he loves her before they kiss.
